I would almost bet that this song is actually called "Happy Song of the Sleigh Bells" but I cannot find it anywhere. It's on our holiday mix cd at work, but no one can find the name. It's sung by one of those sessions choruses from the 50s or 60s that were so popular in movies and general holiday recordings. It's very up beat and sweet and has a tone very similar to "Sleigh Ride" but it is not that. And it's not Winter Wonderland, either, both of which I know (and like very much). HEEEELLLLPP!!!!!
A Holiday song with the lyrics: "Happy song of the sleigh bells"?
Whoa, I got this one!
It's called "Song of the Sleighbells" by June Hutton. It's an oldie but a goodie from 1952. Hard to find ... but a classic. Has that old-fashioned Christmas sound. Is this what you're looking for:
The jingle bells are getting ringing
And snowflakes are dancing in the sky
And on the corner the snowman
Seems to tip his hat
And wink his eye
As we go racing by
Through the night
Through the sparkling snow
Quick as light
In our sleigh we go
Fields of white
As away we go
To the happy song
Of the sleigh bells
Hear the horse's hoofbeats clatter
Cluck cluck cluck cluck
Listen to the bridles chatter
Chuck chuck chuck chuck
Hear the little harness bells play
Ding ding ding ding
Gaily like a music box they
Sing sing sing sing
Through the chill
Through the wind we ride
Up the hill
Down the valley wide
What a thrill
Riding side by side
To the happy song of the sleigh bells
Hear the horse's hoofbeats clatter
Cluck cluck cluck cluck
Listen to the bridles chatter
Chuck chuck chuck chuck
Hear the little harness bells play
Ding ding ding ding
Gaily like a music box they
Sing sing sing sing
Icycles dangling from the trees
Seem to chime
Merry melodies
As they sway
In the wintery breeze
While a Christmas church
Rings its bells
To the happy happy sleigh bells song
Hope that's the one ... Merry Christmas!
