Have a 62 dodge d-500 front clip want to put it on my 79 gmc sierra frame?

the cab on the d-500 is mint, motor blown and hydraulics shot, frame has been cut for a hay waggon. need to know what i should expect to find and how to modify the gmc frame to accomodate the larger cab. will be moving the gas tank from behind the seat to between the rails. will be putting a stock '78 350 that i rebuilt last winter. saw one done with a 39 ford farm truck on a 82 gmc frame, with a 41 ford bed. looked sweet. also suggestions for the bed. have switched out cabs before on two trucks of the same make model and year. never tried a project like this before with so many variables.

That sounds like some serious machine work and welding will be needed. Your best bet is to find a custom body shop in your area and go ask them. Street rodders might be helpful as well since they are often combining many different elements in old cars.
