What should I give my boyfriend for his birthday?

His birthday has past, actually. I forgot about it, because I went to Europe, and he - to his grandma in Florida, and, though technically we are going out for 21 days, we have never been on a date. I haven't seen him for the last twenty days, because I left to Europe the next day after the Non-Denominational Winter Dance, when he said that he loved me. I had been in love with him for 8 years, and he didn't know! And now I forgot his birthday, but when we talked on the phone, he was very sweet about it. So, I want to get him a late birthday present. My friend Tina's mother said that if you go out with a boy for 1-4 months you give him a sweater. She should know, she was a model, a jet setter and once dated a sultan, but, I mean, it is so unromantic, a sweater! My grandmother said candy! Candy for a boy! And my father said -a pen, so he could write to me, and I wouldn't call him and run up huge phone bills! As if someone uses pens nowadays. What should I do, what should I give him?

Don't spend your time *moon*ing over him, Mia. I'm sure he'll think whatever you get him is *rock*ing. And after all, you're a princess, so I bet you could hook him up with some pretty sweet stuff, right?

Reply:Let me get this straight---you've had a crush on him for 8 yrs, he didn't know; you're now going out (1 day) really, but you've never gone on a date, and you've been going out for 3 wks of which you've only been together 1 day. Just b/c he said he loved you, doesn't mean he does. What does he know of you?! And you bought into it b/c of yr crush.


Forget the pen, unless he's a writer of songs or stories, and the candy.


The sweater idea is nice---5 yrs down the road, MAYBE--lol!


You wanna get him something? Try a box set of his fav band, or a couple of other CD's; OR a DVD box set of a fav type of movie genre; pay for a tattoo; a couple of video games; some music supplies, if that's his thing; And last but not least, TAKE HIM on a date of a movie and dinner. That's nothing that he can look at recall but it's SOMETHING and that's why guys do that all the time.

Reply:Well..if you're good friends at least (you said you loved him for 8 years so apparently you've known him that long) then give him something that means something but nothing too big. If there's a movie or book that he really wants then get him that. If you're in Europe then get him like a little souvenir from over there. I wouldn't get him a sweater at all..that's just..kind of weird. Guys don't really care for getting clothes. Some do but some just like movies, games, etc. And don't get him a pen. Why would you get him just a pen? That would make him think that you couldn't spend any money on him. Just figure something out. It'll come to you.
Reply:Sounds like your family really doesnt care lol.......find out what he wants seceretly.....like have someone ask him a certain question on like what he likes or even better play the 20 20 game with him......first start of asking whats your favorite color....what was your favorite things growing up.....then start to ask question like whats your favorite movie....and you can get some ideas from there on what to get him and the cool part is he wont even know what you are doing he will just think you are playing a game......sneeky sneeky
