heres a bit on what hes like:
Hes quite quiet but once you get him out of his shell hes really funny! lol. He's oh-so-cute but I think hes abit out of my leauge. ALL the girls like him, and he's a sk8r boy. I had a sk8 board once (infact I snowboard...if that similar lol??) and I wear a beanie winter hat with my hair down quite alot and my friends think i look a bit lyk a sk8r girl...when really...well really im quite a prankster, funny, and a little loud but i can be really sweet sometimes, but how do I make him notice me? we sit together in classes all the time but I dont know how to get his attention.......plz help! is he worth a shot?

What should i do if my "bff" made friends with my 2 enemies and is getting closer to them?
well, when we were in an argument, she made friends with my enemy over winter break. i always told her i dont care who shes friends with but in this case, its too far! she knows that they talk behind my back and call me names and all of that stuff, and a bff for me, wouldnt be making FRIENDS with them, but defending me and backing me up. When we were mad @ each other, she tried doing everything that would hurt me %26amp; embarrass me. Bff, right? over myspace, her and my 2 arch enemies have gotten really close and i even asked her and she confermed it. i really dont know how to handle this situation because now i dont have anyone at school to trust. not that there was in the beggining! everyone thinks my enemy is so sweet and caring....BS! shes fake. so they're on her side. [everyone in my grade, basically] how do i handle this!?!?! ....if anyone has total advice, please answer! this is a girl DRAMA thing. and i go back2school tomorrow. im not ready for the drama.........please help!

So i started going to an AP school and met this boy who is such a sweet heart and i really like him. my friend thinks he likes me but idk. he has a girlfriend.... which is where it becomes complicated dont tell me its wrong to hit on someone with a boyfriend cause i dont really hit on him.

ok, so i went 2 mexico 4 winter break, and i met one of my cousins friends. i didnt know him well, and didnt intend to. then on new years, we had this huge bonfire and he told my cousins he liked me, and they told me, then, idk, we started hugging and holding hands. since that day forward, we hugged and held hands alot. he was nice, sweet, and cute. but then i came back and miss him alot. his name is Oved. im not here slitting my throat 4 him, but i miss him. im moving on, but slowly. sometimes we acted like we didnt kno eachother then, then the next day we'd be hugging an holding hands. he showed he liked me to everyone, and i felt special with him. here, in illinois, i barely get looked at by a guy, just a few. but over there in mexico, everyone knew eachother, and alot of guys seemed interested. my cousins knew we liked eachother, and one day, when it was just me and my cousins, we were saying who we liked, and they asked me, "do u want to know who oved likes?" then they told me "katty, he likes her but just likes hugging you. he said that once u leave ur gonna leave him heartbroken" then they start laffing. but then i asked my close cousin, asked her if oved was the kind of guy to flirt a lot, and she said no. what made me feel special is that i'd be randomly sitting, and he comes up behind me and starts stroking my neck, or HED b sitting and id come behind him and start playing around w/ his hair, and hed grab my hands and put them on his chest.

Why my horse rears and bucks while I am leading?
I have a 5 year old.... who is a very sweet horse, but has recently has a OVERLOAD of nerveis energy!!! as soon as I take him out of his stall and put the lead on he gets all tense and puts his head high, then starts walking at a very fast pace in circle around me then eather rears or bucks (while I have the lead ...).we are just coming out of winter, I don't know if the cool weather has anything to do with the behavior? I do not believe that his problem is fear based.....so how to I fix it?

I would stop this behavior before it gets worse...and that is what you are wanting to do...good!
It does sound like he has an abundance of energy...but he still needs to 'obey' the rules. Walking beside you and no where else...and definitely on 4 legs!!
First, you stay calm. The second...and I mean the second he starts to push past you. Whoa him, and back him up. You may not even get out of the stall. If he 'gets in your bubble' or your personal space...immediately back him up. He'll get it. You already said he was a good horse, and this is something recent.
By doing this, his attention will be focused on you...because he needs to pay attention...in case you will be backing him up. With his attention on you...he 'forgets' to buck and rear and be silly.
I would do the same for the bucking and rearing. But I bet he does the 'pushing' and running in circles around you first. Stop that first, again...by backing him immediately. Just a few steps, and then turn around and walk off like nothing happened. But keep an eye on him, so you are ready to react as soon as he begins to misbehave.
I also use the words..."back off" Mine know that means they need to back away from me. You can pick whatever command or noise you want to use...when you back him away from you.
Reply:He probably needs to get his energy out. I would suggest lunging him a few times a week for maybe 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Also, for things like this, more ground work is usually needed, so i would suggest that too.
Guess who?'s (person above me) method works for dealing with the problem when it happens. Its a good way to show him that he needs to slow down and walk with you at your pace.

If so is he warm enough or even if he hasn't been clipped does he have enough rugs on to keep him warm with the cold weather. Does he get enough exercise? Have you changed his feed? If so maybe think of getting him on a feed with less oats or slow release energy. If he gets harder to handle try a chifney as a temperary safety measure to help you control him when leading until you find out the reason for his outbursts.
Reply:A lot of it is probably the cold weather. Stop him the second he tries to walk past you, whoa him. A quick downward jerk on the lead rope may help, when you lead him stop walking often, and always stop him one step behind you. It will take a little time, but he will eventually learn.

If he can't have that extra turn out time you will have problems with him. Lunge him before you try to work with him. At least 15 minutes in each direction to work the extra energy out. Good Luck!

Reply:it is called "spring fever"but luckly it is not a disease.he is just saying"its spring and ive been cooped up,where are the other horses to play with" the days are getting longer and he will have a lot of pent up energy that needs to be released but he still needs to learn manners.in the spring i will break out the rope halters or the "be nice"halters just because of this.when a horse throws his head up like yours and starts to dance they are saying"look at me" he needs to be turned out with some other horses or be ran into the round pen for a little release of energy.sunshine and exercise is the only cure for "spring fever"

He is a young horse and has more energy that we will ever know:) It has been a rough winter and even when they get out, they can't play as hard as usual. The rushing, rearing and bucking are a way to expend that energy. He wants out and is letting you know in no uncertain terms.
Yes you need to refocus this energy (as previously mentioned) and not allow these to become habits. These can be dangerous behaviors for both of you. Hopefully until you get to work it out, he only goes straight up and bucks with no kick-outs.
My OTTB had these same issues when he was younger as well as my clydesdale cross this winter. Natural horsemanship works wonders, even if you only work on the beginning stuff, it is well worth trying.

Reply:when he starts walking faster than you wnat you should get onto him, if he still doesnt listen back him up and continue. if you dont let one thing happen it cant lead to another, (you can't put out the forest fire that hasnt started) The cold can make them energetic, it gets there blood flow up helping warm them, so it could be that...your judgement on that. Talk to a trainer if this doesnt work...GOOD LUCK

they are extrimly dangerous vices that could kill or seriously injure you or someone around you, and once they start, they never stop.
the horse is in serious danger of hurting himself too.
your horse will rear and buck now until the end of his days so either get rid of him or call the vet because it may be some from of hereditry progressive neurology problem which means he could be very sick.

Last year I created a narrow flower bed. The soil is poor and shallow.?
Before the winter set in I covered it in horse manure which is not rotting down very well although I've tried to encourage birds into that part of the garden. Two questions: should I boost it with some compost and if so, what sort. I'll need to buy it in. Secondly, what should I grow on it until I decide what I finally want to put there. It's by a fence so I thought sweet peas might look nice.
Last year I created a narrow flower bed. The soil is poor and shallow.?
A good flower bed needs to be at least 1m (preferably as wide as possible) so that you can really improve conditions underground. A narrow bed of cultivated soil could create a 'channel' through which rainwater can flow and nutrients are washed away. Try to make the bed as wide as possible, turn in the horse manure as deep as possible (at least a spit) - the manure may be too fresh? It should be dark and crumbly and non-smelly if it's rotted down enough - either way the digging in will help. Throw in some chicken manure pellets or blood, fish and bone mix and as you turn the soil over assess what you have - clay, loam, sand? pan? any worms? and read-up or google what you find to research the best way to manage each soil type. Test the soil if you can and find out the PH so you can plant accordingly. Good luck with your bed - Seet Peas sound lovely! :-)
Reply:Compost certainly couldn't hurt. Here, I can buy composted very old cow manure for the price of topsoil. If you have a truck.....its pretty cheap. Sweet peas are great...but they poop out in the heat of the summer. For a perennial vine, try clematis. Other annual vines that will flower all summer are morning glory and thunbergia. Think about planting perennials in front of the vines. Without knowing where you live..it's tough to give advice. Think about Russian Sage, Shasta Daisy, Coreopsis, Monarda, Nepita, Rudbeckia (all bloom all summer).
Reply:You may not have to add more organic material because the manure should enrich the soil enough. If you want, add these:

A narrow bed of cultivated soil could create a 'channel' through which rainwater can flow and nutrients are washed away. Try to make the bed as wide as possible, turn in the horse manure as deep as possible (at least a spit) - the manure may be too fresh? It should be dark and crumbly and non-smelly if it's rotted down enough - either way the digging in will help. Throw in some chicken manure pellets or blood, fish and bone mix and as you turn the soil over assess what you have - clay, loam, sand? pan? any worms? and read-up or google what you find to research the best way to manage each soil type. Test the soil if you can and find out the PH so you can plant accordingly. Good luck with your bed - Seet Peas sound lovely! :-)
Reply:Compost certainly couldn't hurt. Here, I can buy composted very old cow manure for the price of topsoil. If you have a truck.....its pretty cheap. Sweet peas are great...but they poop out in the heat of the summer. For a perennial vine, try clematis. Other annual vines that will flower all summer are morning glory and thunbergia. Think about planting perennials in front of the vines. Without knowing where you live..it's tough to give advice. Think about Russian Sage, Shasta Daisy, Coreopsis, Monarda, Nepita, Rudbeckia (all bloom all summer).

My family and I go to Vermont with friends every year over winter break and they have a son that is one year older than me and we hooked up once. And i really like him but I cant tell if he actually likes me or if he thinks its just for fun. He is one of those guys who parties alot and he smokes and drinks and hes around other girls all the time and I never know what goes on between him and the other girls since we both have different social groups. ok so this is kind of a long story.. hang in there though. I really need some advice!
So I have liked this guy for a while and we talk some every day at school. There have been times when I thought he might like me earlier in the year. He always tried to make me smile and gave me his sweatshirt one day when I was cold.

He made me feel better and was really sweet sending me long text messages explaining things and making me feel better. He told me he would look for me today at the lake where we sometimes see eachother. When I saw him I called out his name and then said hey. He just hit me with a peace sign. We also might chill in new mexico over winter break. watdoido?

Oh wow, you guys' seem adorable! Idk how old you are but, if you're 16 or older you'll already know this: he looooooooves you(: he just doesn't want to do anything because he's shy. A lot of boy's are. I know you've heard that a lot from you're Mom or whatever a lot and you roll you're eyes and say: "Whatever Mom, he just doesn't like me." I've totally been there, trust me. He likes you, but, he doesn't want to make the first move because he wants to know how YOU feel and he's scared you might not feel the same way and that scared him so he's trying to play it off right. Oh wow, you guys' seem adorable! Idk how old you are but, if you're 16 or older you'll already know this: he looooooooves you(: he just doesn't want to do anything because he's shy. A lot of boy's are. I know you've heard that a lot from you're Mom or whatever a lot and you roll you're eyes and say: "Whatever Mom, he just doesn't like me." I've totally been there, trust me. He likes you, but, he doesn't want to make the first move because he wants to know how YOU feel and he's scared you might not feel the same way and that scared him so he's trying to play it off right. I personally think you should take a bit of a risk and talk to him about it. Hey, if he doesn't feel the same way, screw it because you BOTH seem like really cool kids(:

well i go to an ap school seperate from my highschool where i met this boy whos like a total sweet heart and i really like him. i get a feeling he likes me but idk.
He makes an effort to sit next to me everyday on the bus, i always get hugs from him, we e-mail each other almost everyday and if i dont show up to the school he usualy e-mails me asking me where i was, we didnt see each other for like a whole week and when he seen me i got a really big hug from him.
the week that just passed i didnt see him at all cause he drove to school cause his highschool was on mid winter break and i wasnt there for 2 days and when i was he was in his class but he still wondered where i was and he said it was weird cause i never walked down his hallway where his class is (i get bored and walk back and forth till class starts)
my friend thinks he likes me but idk.
theres one problem he has a girlfriend... whos a freshman %26gt;_%26gt; and hes a junior im closer to his age than she is XD hes 17.

You do this with whatever communications medium you choose...
Don't bother worrying about little miss freshman... You have his attention and I think you just need some reassurance that he really is in to you...
You need to find a way to spend some time with this guy ~ Nothing serious... Just do something you will both like... Be more creative and more detailed as to what this guy likes than your competition.. Common interests and doing fun things together will lead to an impromptu kiss far sooner than just going to a movie.... Now get busy! The question is not whether or not he likes you... .The question is how to make him like you even more....
Keep doing exactly what you have been doing... Notice what happened when you disappeared for a day or two??? He did not forget about you he did not write you off..... HE sat there and thought about YOU.... The same though process occurs when you are not so quick to return his calls or emails.... Keep doing what you are doing and you will do well and get what you want.

We live in a country where you can't just go pick up "Granny Smith" or whatever. Crispy? Softer? Very sweet? Tarter? I want to freeze quite a bit to carry us through a (very long) winter!
