What would you say to your mom??

HELP ME PLS!!

My mom just finnished puting braids in my hair last night....it took 5 hours. I love my mother to death. She is a really sweet lady. She never complains, she is always sacrificing to do for others.

She wants to do her hair just like mine, but she is 53 and I'm 20. My mom looks really good for her age, but I feel that if she puts cochet braids in her hair it will make her look odd and older than what she really is. What I got looks really hot, but It wouldn't on my mom. I want her to look like a lawyer or a doc. you know, a professional, b/c she is. She is a nurse. When I get to that age I want to be looking like a queen, not a princess of her youth.

I tried to stop her but she would say things like..." It wll keep my head warm in the winter" and " It may not look right but it feels right...I don't like hats"

I don't want my mom to hide under a hat or crochet braids. It is only acceptable for a young person to wear. Its equivalent to platform flip flop

What would you say to your mom??
All you can do is try encouraging a different look but if she doesn't want to change then let her do what she wants. You only live once and if she is 53, then let her live how she wants.!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reply:just talk to her about it
Reply:Just tell her, that you think she would look better another way.
Reply:You need to be honest with her... I'm sure since she's your mom she'll understand where you're coming from... Then again, it's her head, not yours. But I bet if you tell her she looks better with some other style, she'll be inclined to go with that.
Reply:i think you are right to tell her that it wouldnt look right, tell her what you said about you wanting her to look good, she'll just look really out of place with a 20yr olds hairstyle on a 50 yr old person. if you cant convince her, let her do it and make her own decision, she is your mom after all. maybe suggest she changes her haircolor, adds some highlights, if she wants to feel younger and change up her hair a bit.

you also sound a bit possesive of your hairstyle, maybe the root of the problem is that not that your mom wouldnt look right, but that you just dont want to be walking around with the same braids as your mom. see if you can change it up somehow so if she does do it you dont look like they had a 2 for 1 deal on braids. so you dont look identical.
Reply:Pshhhh just tell her thats what I would do.
