I'm under 18, 5'2'' and 130? do i need to lose weight?
It is important to find out the percentage of body fat you have. You don't want your body to have too much fat. You should go to your doctor for a more expert analysis. It is important to be healthy, though. No matter what your weight is, you should be exercising 3-4 days per week, sleeping 8 hours per night, and eating foods that will give you energy and protect you from diseases/conditions that may run in your family, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer. Many of these conditions are avoidable if we give our body what it needs. Health is also a mind thing. It's important to not just measure your health by numbers on a scale. Do you like what you see in the mirror? Do you have the energy to do all the things you need to do everyday? You're young to be questioning your weight. Don't allow the opinions of other people to make you change. Make changes in your life because YOU want to. Make changes to your body because it NEEDS them. If you are tired after walking up a flight of stairs, or you can't go outside right now and run without being out of breath, you may need to lost weight. You only have one life, and one body, though. If you do things because of what people say about you now, it may lead to a destructive pattern of living your life for others as you get older. Protect and love your body, no matter what ANYONE says. Oh, and by the way, if you get down to 120, someone else may say you're STILL too skinny. And if you get down to 110, someone else will accuse you of being anorexic! Honey, love you for who you are! FORGET EVERYONE ELSE! TAKE CARE OF YOU FOR YOU, and no one else!
Reply:Well, that's because what people call "fat" and "thin" these days is totally screwed up.

You are NOT fat. NOT overweight. You are fine. Just because you see some girls that walk around eating 1 grain of rice a day and are a size -10 doesn't mean you are fat. It means THEY are SICK. Please understand that. They are mentally ill. Be grateful you do not have that mental illness.

Reply:I think you're the best judge of your own body, my dear. As long as you're comfortable, that's what counts.
Reply:You r not fat. But if u do not feel good about your body do something. Get rid of junk food, get active. Learn about food, and learn about YOu and your body.
Reply:You need to exercise more and eat healthier, lower fat, and lower calorie foods.
Reply:It depends on your body fat levels. Also your waist measurement.

HTH : )
Reply:I'm 5'2" as well. When I was in grade 11/12, I weighed 135 lbs. In the couple years after high school, I lost a bunch of weight, so I weighed 120. That was without dieting. I was getting some exercise, because I was doing horseback riding. I'm betting any excess weight you have is baby fat, like I had, because you are under 18.

Don't stress out about it. Eating healthier, and exercising are always good ideas, as long as you don't let it control your life. And summer will be here soon, so you will be able to get outside more.
Reply:According to WebMD, your BMI would be 23.78 (which is normal). However, you would still be healthy if you lost a moderate amount of weight. Try losing (with healthy diet and excercise) 5 pounds and then see how you feel about your appearance.
Reply:No sounds good to me
Reply:YOu have a BMI (basic metabolic indicator) of 25. (which is figured by your height vs your weight.) A healthy BMI is 20-25. So, you're doing OK right now, but I wouldn't put on weight.
Reply:It all depends on your bone and muscular structure. Bone and muscle are more dense than fat....so weight doesnt really tell you if you weigh too much.....
Reply:Your in the normal weight range for your height.
Reply:find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.

eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.

5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.

8 glasses of water a day.

4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.

no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)
Reply:As long as you're healthy, which means good cholesterol, no high blood pressure, good overall heart health, not at risk for diabetes. Then, you should be fine. If you do have one or more of these health problems, then you should probably watch what you eat and excerise everyday.
Reply:No, I'm 5'3 and weigh 150 pounds. you are very close to becoming overweight.

You kno what your problem is? You have a negative body image. Try describing yourself in a positive perspective, such as saying I'm funny, I'm the smartest kid in class, I'm caring, somthing like that.

Dont worry about your body, love your body and dont compare yourself to other people.

I said the same thing, and now i dont really care about being fat. i love who iam now and you should too

I kno how you feel. I HATE COLD WEATHER!!!!!!
