Prefer/not prefer, and why: California, Washington, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia?

For me, in order of most to least preferred:

1. Georgia: friendly and open natives, easy to strike up conversation w/ strangers, ATL rocks, charm of Savannah and North GA mountains, grits, sweet tea

2. Oklahoma: friendly natives (except for Carrie no-talent-slut Underwood,) diversity in geography, Tulsa and OKC are nice and in renaissance

3. Washington (state): "distant" but not unfriendly people, decent highways, rainforests, volcanoes, rolling meadows, Seattle

4. Mississippi: very sweet and kind people, Ole Miss=HOT women and great school, love smell of pine forest, grits, boiled peants

5. Montana: awe-inspiring gorgeous, Glacier NP, wide-open mind-clearing spaces, but FRIGID winters

6. California: beautiful--assuming the smog is lifted; very rude pushy people, horrendous traffic, but the sequoias and ski resorts are great

7. Kentucky: sour/closed/impolite natives, HUGE redneck culture, mostly ugly women, little to do, very littered

8. Kansas: like KY, but with fewer hills

Prefer/not prefer, and why: California, Washington, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia?
out of those, i like Mississippi, Kentucky, and Georgia.....

id pick Georgia over ANYWHERE in the world ANY DAY!!!
Reply:I prefer my home state of Georgia as I have been living here all my life except for my tour in the Navy and I love it! People are friendly here and I also love the N. Ga mountains, Stone Mountain, Savannah and oh yeah I love grits and sweet tea too! Oklahoma people I believe would be nice as they are country type of people but I've never been there. I just drove through Mississippi and it was pretty. I knew some people from Washington and they were nice though I've never been there. Montana makes me think of rough cowboy country with good clean open air but very cold but I've never been there. The only time I've been to California was for bootcamp and I've never been to Kansas either. I had a good friend from Louisville, Kentucky years ago while in the service but don't really have an opinion on the state as I wasn't there for very long at all.
Reply:1 northern and southern, not central (ex. sf)

2 coastal and olympic penn but not eastern

3 never been

4 driven through it a hundred times i-70 SUX

5 even worse to drive through than ks

6 ol miss... hot and sticky but beautiful even if a little

backwards

7 grew up in cincy went to ky often- georgous!

8 lived in sav'h for 3 years-fell in love with the ol lady- i'd go back in a heartbeat
Reply:I agree--Georgia has friendly people there and is a wonderful place. My sweetheart lives there and when I went there to visit him, we went to Stone Mountain Park which was great. He took me on a tour around the area he lives (outside of Atlanta) and I know I will love it. I have lived in Illinois for the past 24 years and am originally from New Jersey.

The only other of those states I have been to is Kentucky for a little while on my way to Tennessee and one other time for a Three Dog Night concert. The people seemed nice enough--it seemed like an ok place, but I wasn't out and about there long enough each time to really be able to tell.

I will find out soon about California when I go visit my brother in July. He and his wife love it there.

But I am anxious to be living in Georgia ----mostly because I need to be with my sweetheart, but I think I will like the area we will be in and we will visit other parts of the state after we get settled.
