Toilet training a king charles?
congrats i got a king charles in march .

i had the paper down in kitchen and if he was sleeeping and woke up i took him outside straight away in the early days puppies normally pee few minutes after waking and after water and food if he is seen sniffing or circling take him outside straight away ,when he is peeing or pooing say " go toilet "or anything else "Do your business" when he is going he gets to know the words and maybe even treat him he soon learns go toilet and hopefully the more he goes outside he learns the more oyu do the go toilet demand is good as i can bring mine outside say go toilet and he goes with no hanging around.

another good tip for night time is purchase a dog cage (argos have them) and put him there for bed or times its dangerous for him to be out and as its his bed and hes confined he will not dirty in his so the floor gets dry nights.

he should be ok for fleas only take him out for small walks and as long as he has his injections mine had 1st and second and i was advised to wait another 2 weeks after the 2nd one.
Reply:you are doing good, - but if you use paper, he will always look for paper. This might be what you want - if so, no problem. But if you wan thim to look to go out, then chuck the paper out and leave the door open so he can get out. Little dogs tend to take longer to develop blader control than larger dogs, but they are clever and will get the message. Check with vet about flea treatment for your little friend as he knows best.
Reply:Make sure you clean up after him with something that will realy kill the smell, I use Biological washing powder mixed with water when a puppy has an accident. Watch him carefully so that you can take him out when he shows the signs of wanting to go and always take him out after he's had a feed and when he wakes up. When he goes where you want him to use a particular word or phrase I use 'be clean' then when he goes out you can say 'be clean' and he will go. Unfortunately with central heating fleas are around all year. If he hasn't had all his immunisations it isn't safe to take him out yet anyway, be patient it's the best for your puppy.
