Im 17 weeks pg with my 3rd and its going to be a winter baby.
I love all the little hand knitted cardigans and stuff, does anyone know how hard it is to knit?
Also is it expensive for the needles/wool etc?
I have absolutely no idea where to start i just love all the sweet little clothes!! (",)
Any help would be appreciated, especially if anyone has tried it and im better off buying the clothes!!!
Thanks everyone
How easy is knitting baby clothes???
i personally love knitting and knit all the time for friends family and my own kids. i started about a year ago and it took a little while to get the hang of it but when i finished it i was well pleased and it was def worth it. a good quality wool is the key, 'sirdar snuggly' is the best i have found and i love it. i find u can pick up loads of cheap baby wool from ebay in all different colours, and patterns can be tricky, but i have some very easy patterns that are fairly easy to follow, just using the two main stiches, u can also pick these up on ebay. a simple little cardi is def the best place to start. i recently tried knitting a hat and im V pleased with the results. i also think there is nothing better than a newborn in a hand knitted cardi.
hope this helps, and dont be detered not only grannys knit i am 26.
Reply:well if you can knit, it is very easy. if you cant knit then you'll need to learn from someone who does because its very hard to learn from a book. im a fourteen year old but i knit baby clothes all the time for charity and stuff. you can get wool fairly cheap in shops like lidl and aldi sometimes if youre lucky - but its worthe getting better quality wool so its nice and soft on your babies' skin.!

Reply:oh buying clothes would be more beneficial than making a whole wardrobe out of yarn. but ya, knitting is easy and inexpensive, but it does take alot of time and patience. I got 13 rolls of yarn for 30.00 and knitting needles at a consignment store for 60 cents. that did a huge blanket.
Reply:good luck with knitting, but it looks so hard,,, maybe you can let someone show you, but i would just buy the stuff, then again you could try if you have alot of free time...
Reply:it is so hard and frutrating, it takes lots of mess ups to get just one half way decent thing that can be worn. If you want to do it as a pass time, then go for it.
Reply:as long as you can knit and follow a pattern it is easy I was knitting baby clothes at 10 years old
Reply:i don't know how to make clothes but i can make blankets and its pretty easy I'm 26 weeks and already have 4 blankets down
