My uncle wants to sell me his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V8 for $4000. Is this a good deal?

It's in great shape inside and out. 117,000 miles on it and he stated it needs a Tie Rod and new tires.

Does anyone else have any experience with Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo's? Specifically 1999 V8's? What are the common problems I might have? Also, can anyone recommend sweet tires for it?

I love this truck but am not very familiar with Jeep Grand Cherokees. I currently have a 1992 Toyota 4Runner 4X4 V6 that I have put WAY too much money into......and I smashed in the rear passenger side door over the winter sliding on ice and has a BAD oil leak.

Seems like a decent deal, although if he's your uncle, he should cut you some slack on the price. Grand Cherokee's can be very reliable rides, and long lasting past the 200k mark. I had a 1992 Cherokee that was an awesome for about 7 months, and then I just had to end up dumping cash into it every time I got paid. Tires cost alot, the suspension, etc etc. But that just comes with the territory. You want a bigger ride, it'll need to eat some money sometime.
Reply:you can go to the kelly blue book website and see what the vechile is worth! That might help you to decide!
Reply:I would say its a good deal. Jeeps are know to be good trucks and will last 200,000 miles plus more
Reply:It sounds like a good deal. Esp since you know the person you are buying it from
