I've posted this a couple times and waited days, but nobody is answering. I became good friends with a girl in 6th grade. We were pretty good friends throughout middle school. Now, we go to different high schools and don't talk all that much. We see each other like maybe 1 time every month or 2 months. My winter formal is coming up and I really want to ask her super cute and sweet brother. He is 2 years older than me. She told me it was okay with her, but is she just saying that? Is it weird to go on a "sorta date" with your sister's old friend? If he were willing to go with me, so you think he would be more comfortable at a more casual dance? I don't know what to do and if I ask him, I have to ask him by Wednesday. ADVICE?!?!

Go ahead and ask him. What do you have to lose? If he says yes, then that's great. If he says no, then ask him if he would like to go out at another time. (The formal dance might be too much, as in $ and big preparation for someone he doesn't know well.) If he says no to any kind of date, then try and forget him, but continue to be friends with his sister. A genuine friend, never a fake friend just because of her brother.
